EU renegotiation is a legal farce

When I hear reports on Tory plans for Europe, namely the renegotiation on the UK’s commitments under the terms of their membership, I just cannot help but laugh. Firstly the prospectus for reform is ‘sidesplittingly’ vague, secondly it’s hilariously unachievable. So why is it that ‘Call me Dave,’ so easily pedals this message via our News and media outlets free from journalistic scrutiny? We can regain sovereignty with regard to free movement the Tories would have us believe. I can’t see it.

Freedom to tweet

During a week where Labour are deciding what colour shirt to wear as ‘One Nation’ conservatism cramps their style, it’s as if everyone seems to have forgotten the Ills that will face the nation after the Summer recess. The EU: An electoral black hole

The NHS is as a symbol of labour’s legacy is as we all know something that they love to hang an election campaign on. However this election won’t be defined by Labour’s unending pledges to rescue our NHS or indeed the Tories’ similar ode to continue with a balanced ‘economic plan.’ It will be remembered as the election that saw the electorate even more divided than the last and most likely propelled forward an agenda of electoral reform. We will also remember this election as UKIP’s rise.

On immigration: Are UKIP really that different from Labour?

When I heard Labour’s announcements on Immigration this morning, two thoughts leaped into my mind. The first was, ‘finally the labour campaign are facing this issue which, as polls suggest are vitally important to the electorate. In February of last year You Gov found that 65% of the public were worried about the level of immigration to the UK. My second thought was can this Labour announcement finish the UKippers off and is this policy on immigration fundamentally different from Labour’s anyway?

Bez T Tipped Me Over

Bez…Bez…Good old Bez, oh no sorry its Mark now. Sorry, what’s that? Of the Reality Party. Watching Andrew Neil’s Daily Politics regularly along with many other politicos, it is easy I’m sure to become as disconnected from the concerns of the electorate as the Westminster parties have become (this is what the polls suggest at least.)
